How long for pulled facial hair to grow back?

My boyfriend has a full beard and part of it got ripped off his face. It left a smooth bald spot, which still hasn%26#039;t grown back yet. This happened a month ago, and we are starting to get worried it will never return!|||unless he has cancer it will return if not go see a doctor or just shave the rest off
