What kind of facial wash is gentle on your skin while pregnant?

I%26#039;m 12 weeks and everything breaks my face out and makes it dry! Makeup, soap, cleanser, everything! Does anyone have any suggestions on what may help clear my face up and also moisturize? I used proactiv before being pregnant, but now it burns my face when I use it.|||Oooo Yea... Proactiv is way too strong for your skin now that you%26#039;re pregnant... That stuff literally burnt my skin because it was so strong.

Try using Cetaphil... It%26#039;s gentle. It%26#039;s made for sensitive skin, and they have a moisturizer that you can put on afterwards.. I have extremely sensitive skin and it works great for me.|||First you must have an understanding of how your body is reacting to your preagnancy. Hormones play a major role in what is called %26quot;sebum%26quot; which is your sebaecous glands that produce the oil keeps our skin healthy, however it can somtimes become our enemy. In this case its your enemy. Now this is how I control those %26quot;glands%26quot; that can make our lives so miserable. Try using a Alpha-Hydroxy ( its active ingredients Octinoxate and Oxybenzone) ON TOP OF your proactiv running out of room to explain but this works for me and alot of others that have asked the same question|||Do not use Retin A, it has been proven to cause birth defects, do not use Accutane or cream/washes that have benzoyl peroxide in them. Using creams/washes that have salicytic or glycolic acid in them is okay while pregnant. I used tea tree oil for my acne when I was pregnant, they sell a little bottle at Sally%26#039;s beauty supply that%26#039;s pure and has no adulterants in it; it is entirely safe during pregnancy. Dove is also a good suggestion.|||I used Neutrgena%26#039;s moisturinzing face wash...it comes in a white bottle and is creamy like lotion. My face was so dry AND broken out during pregnancy, too. But the dryness was horrible, especially on my cheeks, so I bought patroleum jelly lotion and rubbed in on my cheeks multiple times a day (and had to be careful not to get any on my chin, nose, or forehead b/c of breakouts).|||Okay this is going to sound really really odd but I use either almond oil or olive oil to clean my face. It is called the oil cleansing method (OCM). My face is oily and really really sensitive...to everything. Soap, perfume, hairspray, even if I took a nap in my makeup for an hr I would break out. I tried everything even natural remedies and I was just left with bad acne scars. I would literally have a t least one pimple on my face at all times...even those ddep ones that you can%26#039;t even pop. (BTW I started before I got preggo and now that I am, I STILL haven%26#039;t broken out!! )

I did a little research and tried cleaning with oil and I haven%26#039;t had a real breakout since I started 6 months ago.

Basically this is what I do, but everyone is diff. If you google it, you will find different methods. I always clean with dove soap first. Then exfoliate with apricot scrub. Once that is done, (while in the shower..the steam opens the pores) I rub the oil in my face and massage for a few minutes. Then I rinse. Sometimes I take a washcloth and wipe but it is not necessary. When you rinse, it may seem really oily but trust me, when you pat your face dry, it all goes away and you are left with soft even-toned skin. No oil!

I know it seems counter productive to clean oily skin with more oil but it does not make me break out and it does not make my skin oily at all. In fact, I feel like sometimes a light moisturizer will do.

What happens is: Oil dissolves oil so with your pores being open, the oil you put on your face dissolves the oil in your pores and it purges it out.

It doesn%26#039;t hurt to try. I love it!!!

I%26#039;ve tried all the drugstore acne kits and they just make my acne worse by aggrivating it. I hate it...wearing makeup over pimples. But literally, once I started the OCM, after about 4 days my pimples healed and all my pores were purged. My face felt sooo clean!|||You need to be careful with what types of acne treatments you use during pregnancy, don%26#039;t use anything with salicylic acid, if you do try to make sure its less than 2%..cetaphil has been great for me since i%26#039;ve became pregnant, i was using clean and clear acne control kit, but my doctor suggested that i stoped using that and switch to a more gentle mild cleaner. Works great.|||I%26#039;m not pregnant but I have really sensitive skin and can%26#039;t use soap or even body wash on my face. So years ago I began using baby wash. I started with Baby Magic because I loved the scent. But it%26#039;s hard to find around here so I%26#039;ve switched to generic Target brand. Just avoid anything that has perfumes (like the Lavender scent).

Good luck .. and congrats on the baby!|||I am pregnant and have acne but also get dry easily because I am almost 30... I am also a skin care consultant with mary kay. I use timewise for oily to combinatin skin.. and definately the moisturiser. You can use the one for normal to dry skin if its tooo oil absorbing. :)|||I continued using proactive. My OB said it was fine. I am not sure what else to recommend if that bothers you but I know you are supposed to stay away from Salicylic Acid.|||Do not use benzoyl peroxide while pregnant. I would just stick to cetaphil right now. Do not put any harsh chemicals on your face especially not BP. Cetaphil makes a good moisturizer too.|||maybe try some cleansing facial lotion after you wash?? my skin was bad when i was pregnant too, i used moisturizer ALOT. but at least you will have great hair and nails from the prenatal viatamins :)|||something i find gentle and very moisturizing and great for acne is the burts bees apricot facial scrub.

its just great.|||Anything that is natural and is made for sensitve to very sensitive skin should work.|||vichy products are the best at shoppers drug mart especially the cleanser.............i used it when i was pregnant.........hope it helps.|||I recommended CETAPHIL it works very well. It is soft and cleanses your pores with no stinging burn|||olay sensitive skin facial cleanser works really well for me|||dove soap is so gental ive experienced it b4|||dove is the best, but baby soap is very gentle too.
