Yes--I know that facial soap is for the face and body soap is for the body. But is there really any chemical difference between the two, or is it just a scam to make us buy more soap?|||Facial and body soaps are about the same in terms of their chemical composition, but facial soaps are generally milder. Sometimes a milder detergent is used, sometimes some additional oils are included, and occasionally some %26quot;additives%26quot; designed to help facial skin are involved.
For the most part I wouldn%26#039;t say it%26#039;s a scam - it%26#039;s a matter of selling you products to meet different needs. But if your facial soap is strong enough for your body, or your body soap is mild enough for your face then you don%26#039;t need both!
Whether or not you can use a body bar for your face is dependent on your own skin - some are more sensitive than others. My ex husband could probably wash his face with a brillo pad and dish detergent whereas almost any soap leaves my face dry and flaky.|||Facial soap is extremely different from body soap. For one, Facial Soap doesn%26#039;t hurt as much when you get it in your eyes and, Two, It makes your skin softer for some reason. So you could just buy facial soap for washing, but facial soap is normally a little more expensive than body soap.|||sometimes, there are harsh chemicals in body soap, like Ivory, that not all of our faces can handle. some ppl have really sensitive skin! Dove soap, is for face and body, so it doesnt have harsh chems in it. And also, body soap can leave your face red, dry and itchy.|||Facial soap has different ingredients and is much milder. Facial soaps are often called cleansing bars because chemically they are not %26#039;soap%26#039;. I always use a cleansing bar, but have not washed my face with soap since I was 14. Using soap on your skin may irritate your eyes and cause dry skin.|||Body soap makes your face dry and face soap is for the face so it cleans and doesn%26#039;t make your face dry.
